The Mage

Of all the classes in wow that exist,
one right now seems to surely be pissed
We rolled a mage becasue magic is FUN
when all we really do, is conjure a drink and a bun

We got into mage and at first it was cool
we had not 1 but 3 choices of magic school
The fire would burn, with a deadly dps
The ice would freeze, making people move less
and the arcane of course would give us clear cast

Times have now changed and we sit wondering "why?"
all we can do is conjure and cry
we have too little life and our armor does not exist
and now many people just seem to resist

So when you see a mage who looks very sad
all you have to say is its not all that bad
you can still group with us we wont let you become dead
as long as you make us some water and bread...doh!

Epeen

Sorry, I know this has nothing to do with Steve's Korean BBQ, but I just wanted to say that after many many many long months, I finally completed my prophecy set with my priest!

I think this is my first full set ever in WoW (never completed dungeon set 1)... I don't think I ever had a full set in Diablo II either hahaha.

woo hoo!!! alrighty, sorry, but i really had to get that out of my system. now back to grinding for a horse! ^^;

G'day, guild

So... my two-point-five week whirlwind tour of Australasia begins on Thursday, and I will be /afk for a while. As I'll be packing all of tomorrow, I plan on logging on tonight, using up my rest on pirates in Tanaris (and that pesky dragonslayer's blessing that I just can't bring myself waste), and I'll send all the gold i have on hand at the moment to someone who can put it to better use.

When I get back, I imagine that Cowchan will be fully decked out in purple world drops, Dwight will be death coiling rogues like a mofo, Limezor will be doing solo runs on Molten Core, and Jason will have moved.

Bendyr = Übyr.

A late night drunken grinding session led me to the magical level 44, which enabled me to weild the unbelievably awesome [Phantom Blade] (pictured below). I will use this sword to rock the BGs!

It's a pretty funky looking sword, too; it's very... "Tidus" from FFX:

It glows blue even without enchants. Our old friend Arboshock has offered to hook me up with one of his high level enchants, in exchange for a Gnomish Mind-Control Cap], which I can probably do. I'm off-handing the [Sword of Omen] I picked up back in SM.. Speaking of which, if you guys still want to do SM or RFD tomorrow, let me know. I'm itching to try this baby out on some eliteness, and I can get an even better off-hand sword from a quest in RFD.

To Infinity... And Beyond!

Well, so it looks like you guys are leveling like madmen... which got me thinking about our plans for instancing. Obviously we still have a date with High Inquisitor Whitemane and her crew at the Scarlet Monastary, which should be trivial as we push into our mid 40s.

Other things to consider:
Gnomeregan - Getting to be a bit low, but if nothing else I know I could use some Dual Reinforced Leggings. Quest info: Rig Wars

Razorfen Downs - Just about perfect level for us, not too sure of the goodies, but if you've never been, you must see the undead concert.

Uldaman - We can definitely do the first half or whatever of the dungeon, again, not too sure what kinda lewt we'd be going for. Also would have to watch out for alliance parties, because you must fight your way to the entrance (somewhat like deadmines).

A little further out:
Maraudon - we should probably get up to mid 40s before attempting this place, but it's pretty big (there's the 'orange side,' 'purple side,' and the whole waterfall, naturey area if i remember correctly), so if nothing else we could start some of the annoying collection quests. The princess probably won't be possible until more like 50, but at that point, we're talking about some pretty nice gear that you may well keep until 60.

Sunken Temple - also quite a lot of content here, so starting early to do collection quests wouldn't hurt. Lots of high level class quests also require killing one of the dragons here, so we'll definitely be stopping by eventually...

zomg, endgame!
Blackrock Depths - we can start here at low to mid 50s, and definitely should... this dungeon is especially massive with many different areas, scripted events, and quests and such. Some classes used to be able to get some of their tier 0 set from this dungeon, but in 1.10, they reitemized the bosses and i think moved those drops to the later dungeons. still, lots of good stuff here, if nothing else, a chance to get Ironfoe!

LBRS, UBRS, Scholo, and Strat - Once we're 60 we can start collecting our tier 0 set! And once we do that, we can start upgrading it too!!! The upgraded class sets even contain 4 epix I believe. If you've been watching the blizzard main page, you probably already know, but you can preview these sets here. (the tier 0 i'm talking about is dungeon set 1, which we upgrade to dungeon set 2)

DM - dire maul is uber. like sm, 3 separate areas, but with uber end game lewt and great content. each area is so big, that they're basically an instance each.

Well alrighty, enuf dreaming for today... back to work ^^;

I HATE MOVING

I'm pretty sure that the WoW Realm Status Page is purely decorative in nature.

Warlock Forums are ridiculous

This is a great quote from the Warlock forums:

Seriously, we are Warlocks. Masters of the Dark Arts. We are not crude, barbaric warriors. We are educated and erudite scholars of dark lore who summon, bind, and command other intelligent agents through our sheer force of will. Ad hominem and invective does not become us. We are better than that. We should be, at any rate.

HAHA. When did Aidan start playing WoW.

A horse is a horse is a horse of course of course

HAHA I got my horse ... and it was free

[edit] Oh yeah I can make mageweave bags ... send me mageweave. I'll be farming some in Feralas while also getting my fishing / cooking up to 300 because I'm insane.

Did You Know?

I've been going a little crazy with screenshots lately, but...

Did you know:

...that If you log in when you're dead you get this cool login screen?

...that Shaman's have a cool enchantment that lets you walk on water?

...that if you Mind Control someone, you can give them buffs and they'll retain them after the MC wears off, thus allowing a Night elf like this one to get a Shaman buff?

We were dancing with this alliance night elf on the water by Booty Bay for like 10 minutes. After the angsty gankfest in gadgetzan the night before, this was a welcome change. Of course, 10 minutes later a lv 60 hunter ruined it by aim shotting my shammy friend here.

Bendyr is poor but happy

So all that money I was bragging about before? Totally gone. What did I spend it on? I brought pictures:

First I finally bought my mount. Though you actually don't get to name your mount like Hunter pets, I've decided that my horse's name is "Mr. Dead".

Second, I got my gnome engineering card, and I made some toys. My favorite ones are the Death Ray and Shrink Ray, which I alternate during their 5 min cooldowns...

The Death Ray usually allows me a one-hit kill every 5 minutes. Unfortunately, it also does a good amount of damage to me, so if I get an unexpected add I could die. Still, a lot of fun. I actually used this to get a one-hit kill on a Warlock, but I forgot to get a screenshot.

The Shrink Ray usually shrinks your opponent, reducing his attack power by 250. It also has a chance to grow you, which is actually better because you can take on multiple bad guys with about an extra 80 attack power. The "backfire" effect means that you yourself gets shrunk (and lose 250 attack power temporarily), but this seems like a pretty rare occurence, and I can always gouge, vanish, or blind, and wait for it to wear off. Also a lot of fun.

Can't wait to try these bad boys out in battlegrounds.

Where's the Beef? Right Here.

Hello all. Thanks to Bendyr, I, Cowchan's alter-ego, have now been added on to poster status, and just wanted to post some screenshots of the new weather patch, as some of you haven't seen it yet. Also, I just got me a grey kodo, so no more walking for this cow. Woot!

SKBBQ is fucking famous.

Check out the recognition we gets in da forums. I can't even ax a question about my talentz without getting mobbed by some fan of the crazy BBQ flava. Hope the mad recognition doesn't tarnish our guild's indie cred.

Which reminds me, next time I'm in the East Bay, I should probably sit down and eat some kimchee at this fine dining establishment, so I'm not a total poser...

AH FTW

Sr. Sergeant Bendyr has moved on from WSG to conquer a new ground... the Auction House. As I am precariously close to level 40, and because I want a pretty pink horsie, I am whoring myself out for gold in any way you can imagine. Other than mining anything I can get my hands on and all but abandoning my engineering discipline, I have also been attempting to arbitrage at the Auction House, to a degree of moderate success. I have gone from about 20g on Saturday to at least 80g right now. I've outline dmy profit mechanics on the twiki page. It's basically, buy low, sell high, with some caveats.

The funny thing is, I would actually have well over 100g if I didn't get bogged down by my covetousness. I found a Phantom Blade amazingly underpriced at 10g (at least a 27g value actually), and bought it, but then I looked at the stats and the proc, and I couldn't bring myself to list it. I've decided I'll respec for swords and use this to pwn the BGs at lv. 44. Craziness! Anyway, after I've gotten my mount, sword training, and my gnomish engineering recipes, I'll probably still have some surplus gold, so if you see me online, let me know if you need cash. I think I have the auction house method down!

PVP high

Woo! So while I was waiting for Arathi Basin last night I was going around pickpocketing mobs and mining ore in Desolace; and once it became clear that the BG just wasn't going to happen, I decided to run to Feralas and pick up the flight point there. First of all, it was surprisingly easy; there are no mobs whatsoever that are close enough to the road to aggro you. Second of all, most of the allies were too high level to bother dismounting and killing you. However, I did run by this one 43 level warrior, and after he paused I was pretty sure he saw right through my stealth. Sure enough, about a minute later he came back down the road, unmounted and attacked me. Luckily, I was prepared, so I instantly blinded him, vanished, cheap-shotted, blade-flurried, evaded, and used my fricking Dragonling. I took him down! I had such an adrenaline rush after that. Unfortunately, once he came back after me about five minutes later, all my abilities were cold and I died pretty quick.

Still, not bad... 1 gank and 1 orange kill on my way to the Mojache flight point.

Profile Hosting

I've looked into one hosting site/addon called "Wow Companion". You can turn it on to scan your inventory, talents, profession, and honor, and it turns off automatically in certain situations, such as pvp or instances. You can see the hosted page here. I'm still investigating the RPG Outfitter plugin.

SM Armory and maybe Cathedral

Sorry for the late notice- but if anyone is interested in doing Scarlet Monastery Armory - sign on on Saturday at 3PM PST (6PM EST). If time allows we may attempt the Cathedral as well. So far I think that Dwight, Meefand I are in.
