Amusement

So battlegrounds are a fine way to entertain yourself while waiting for the patch, but you know what pastime I really enjoy? Vigilante justice.

Mojito was complaining about a level 50 Hunter corpse camper in Shimmering Flats on /guild, so I fired up my Gadgetzan Transporter to help out. On my way to Shimmering Flats , I ran into "Jollygood", the aforementioned camper heading back to Gadgetzan. I was able to kill him twice before he got in the walls of Gadgetzan, but once there, the guards' nets were stopping me from playing with him. So, I decided to try out some of my new Subtlety talents. Specifically, I found that "Improved Sap" and "Cloak of Shadows" allow you to Chain-Sap pretty much anyone you want. The Cloak of Shadows gives you a 90% chance to avoid flares.

Hehe... this kept me entertained for about 15 minutes, even after Mojito had to log off himself. At one point the Hunter was able to mount, but I just waited 'til he stopped at the mailbox and sapped him on his mount. Good, good stuff.

So- if you guys ever need some Alliance justice, just send up the Bend-signal. I'll be there.

Teh Pain.

Okay, well I haven't been on WoW much because of RL crap, but even when I do try to log on for a Battleground or four, I run into crazy lag and glitches. I'm hoping Blizz works this out soon... I have about 4k honor right now, and grinding that was crazy painful. We should group up for premade AB or something some time.

Also, who's gonna be around this weekend? Anyone up for a high-end instance run?

zomg 2.0

wholy crap there's a buncha goodies to get now... i played 1 av, got like 200 bonus honor for the loss, prolly ~50 for kills... it's gonna be a long climb for those epic lewts. -_- anyhow, we should plan on our arena team. name ideas? team size?

i am still spec'd prot up the ass, so as soon as i get some time, we should run summore instances too :D

Gravy

Dwight, Cowchan, and I continued the tradition of finding borderline psychotic PUGs, this time in the form of a Priest who refused to leave Shadowform, was apparently trying to pull AND tank, and was just generally trying his best to wipe us. We gave him the boot and picked up Wolfenstine, a 59 druid with some Cenarion gear, which was an obvious improvement.

Grats to Dwight and Cowchan on finishing your class quests! Let me know which rewards you end up opting for. BTW, that "Chained Essence of Eranikus" isn't a bad trinket, but if you like you can also turn it in for XP in and gold in SoS: Just find this dude, and talk to him (he won't have a mark over his head, but he's in a cave and you just start talking to him).

Return to the Sunken Temple

After pwning a Turkey and its various fixing minions on Thursday, I now feel revitalized, and think we should organize an instance this weekend. Dwight and Cowchan still need their Sunken Temple goodies, and with three or four 60s in tow, it should be a piece of cake. In fact, what level is Ros? If he can hit 50 by this weekend, we can probably even bring him along...

Prior to this weekend, Dwight should complete the quests up to Trolls of a Feather and Cowchan should complete the quests up to The Green Drake in preparation. If either of you needs help with any of those prereq quests, just /holla.

Given that you guys are interested in some "Big Game" apparently, we can either do this early morning on Saturday or some time on Sunday. What time is good for you?

Damn BRD conspiracy...

Well, the zionist-conspiracy-controlled respawn times in the Lyceum prevented us from dethroning the emperor, but at least we got some good lewt! Meef came away with a blue and a BOE Purple O_o. Cowchan got some quests completed, and I learned to smelt Dark Iron!

Now if you don't mind, I have some more ethnic groups to defame and some dwarves to aggro.

...

Wait, where am i? Who just took over my blogger account? Did someone just post using my name? Why am I wearing all this lipstick? NO WIRE HANGERS... EVER!!!

The Endgame calleth...

So, I hit 60 on Wednesday Night! Wooot!!! Time to get some of that endgame content that everyone's always yammering about.

Meef and Cowchan both hit 59 too, so won't be long for them either. Whatsay we try to get one of the high level dungeons done this weekend? BRD? Strat? Scholo? Meef, I've never done any of these all the way through, so can you give us some estimate of what kind of content we could do that would be fun and possibly loot-inducing?

I spoke to Cowchan, and he said that he might be able to do Saturday afternoon or late Sunday afternoon, I think. Both of these times work for me. Meef?

I know Alex is out of town, but maybe Zala will have his account restored by then. Otherwise we'll have to pug a healer ;_;.

Oh well, still should be fun. Respond with times that you guys can meet. I'm gonna suggest 2PM EST for Saturday (that's 11AM for you guys) or sometime your Sunday afternoon.

Leather is not really that much better...

So, I guess I shouldn't be making fun of Tsukikaji's Dresses. I spent a lot of time trying to put together my Embrace of the Viper set, just to find out that it makes me look like a bad, bovine Elvis Impersonator...

Ah well, at least they've been leaving these nice-apple scented baths in every Inn for me to use.

maybe it was just a long day...

...but i lol'd:

Remove the C'thun trash scorpians/scarabs

[the thread title is in reference to (i think) the tons of time wasting trash you have to fight before the final aq40 boss, prolly a valid complaint... anyhow, 18 pages!!!]

zomg even better:
"Yeeeaaaahhh... I'm gonna need those DPS reports on my desk..."
"I told them....I told them if they told me to clear vent one more time I'd disband the raid."
"
Sounds like somebody has a case of trying to raid on a tuesday."
"
I can't believe what a bunch of nerds we are. We're looking up "kel'thuzad strats" in the wiki."
"'
Looks like you've been missing a lot of raids lately...'
'I wouldn't say i've been missing it Bob...'"
"'
Ladnil, we need to talk about your FR.'
'But I have 120 unbuffed FR, that's the minimum right?'
'Sure it's the minimum, but you don't like to only do the minimum, do you?'"
"'You see, what we're trying to do is get a feeling for how people spend their time so if you would, would you walk us through a typical raid, for you?'
'Yeah. Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, after that I sorta space out for an hour.'
'Da-uh? Space out?'
'Yeah, I just wand my target, but it looks like I'm DPSing. I do that for probably another hour after I DC for lunch too, I'd say in a given raid I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, DPSing.'"
"
So you want me to wear more flarecore?"
"'
Now Miltonadin, don't be greedy, let's pass it along and make sure everyone gets an epic piece.'
'Yes but, last raid I didn't receive a piece, and I was told that I could n---'
'Just Pass.'"

BG, XP, ST

I'm stalling Bendyr at 59 so we can do guild WSG and AB (if we want, I even have info for a vent server that we can use). We needs to grind our low 50s up so we can get some BBQ BGs. In fact, Meef has suggested that you grind levels on the mobs in AV. Not only do they give decent experience while you can do some minor AV objectives, but you will be getting free rep and honor the whole time AND you have no durability costs O_o. The AV trinkets just add more honor and xp. Other good XP at low 50s can be found in Un'goro where the quests are all overlapping and there are tons of quests with good xp you can complete just by running around (like the Zelda quest).

This weekend, I think we may want to do ST again for Dwight, since he needs to do his Warlock Scythe quest.

tsukikaji

so I rolled a new character. he's a druid. his name is tsukikaji. tsuki = moon. kaji = fire. i'm so novel. anyhow, i'm sure you can see where this is going. before you read any further, you need to view/listen to this ytmnd (Bendyr's Edit: As with any YTMND link, DO NOT CLICK AT WORK UNLESS YOU HAVE HEADPHONES). bendyr also rolled a druid. his name is slotr. he's gonna get twinked out, so he'll end up with a pvp rank of... sergeant! BRILLIANT. here's a pair of screenshots from our adventures:

perhaps i'm just easily amused... but that was easily the most fun i've had with wow since... well actually running thru st was pretty cool... but still!!! BRILLIANT.

assty

wow, what a day of wow. the princess fell quickly, i think we got thru there in under an hour. pressed on to st, snakes in a temple.

trolls fell and i collected their feathers, dragons fell, and we killed a giant flying snake. why stop there?! to BRD!

later in the day we headed to brd... and thus began the most terrible run ever. first we had a druid who couldn't heal me. so we wiped a bunch. i was rezzed during a boss wipe so i got to die twice. excellent. theeeen we had 4. we pressed on. we killed the boss... then we wiped in the areana. aaaand you can't reset the event. great. so we waited for a priest. we waited forever. priest finally comes when we're about to quit. we have a bad pull or somethin and i die... ...and my equipment is broken. so i try to run out... noope! respawn! i die. rezsickness at thorium point. pay 5g in repairs. ganked by 60 warrior. rez. ganked by 60 warrior. rez. run for my life. maaaake it baaack aaaand... we have to backclear so i can rejoin the group ><

in the end we managed to make it to the 7 dwarves, get mc attunement, and kill plugger. but frikkin a it was a terribality. thank goodness the priest was skilled.

damn you brd.

get your asses in here

zomg av holiday weekend ftw. in three days of pvping, i already have 10k more honor than last week. and one of those days was spent in ab/wsg (much less honor). wait times are usually less than 30 seconds and games less than 30 minutes. nyooohohoho!

Cowchan, Bendyr, and Prometheus

After this shot, Cowchan loaded me into his gun, and shot me at someone.

This was taken on the way to get Cowchan his trinket in Jintha'Alor, and to clear up a bunch of leftover quests (including Ancient Egg). Seems like our guild progression is still Maraudon->Sunken Temple. Meef and I are a little over-leveled, but it will make the instances go fast, and at the very least, we all need the reward from ST anyway. Anyone interested in doing one this weekend? After this whole extended downtime crap, I'm antsy for some heavy WoWing.

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

for the nyohohorde!

Well i played like 5 games of AV just now and we finally won the 5th one... totally forgot about the quest reward for winning!!!

I went back to UC and respec'd so I'm now Arms/Fury for maximum polearm goodness. Can't wait to try this baby out!

Third time is the (Gazlowe's) charm

Ok guys, I thought i'd get the word out early and see if you guys are up for some centaur slaughter in Maraudon this weekend. Meef is scaling back raiding time with his Khadgar priest, so we could do it on either Saturday or Sunday.

Cowchan, are you set up with teh Intarwebs? Dwight, does Saturday or Sunday work for you?

Thursday, August 31, 2006

Holiday Weekend

So my plans to travel to exotic Maine to observe the habits of the Flying Panda fell through, so I may be a bum and just stay in New York this weekend. If so, I'll probably be playing a lot of WoW. Is anyone interested in doing an instance on Saturday morning and/or Monday as well?

Right now our progression is pointing to either Maraudon, or back to Jintha'Alor for Cowchan to get his trinket and for us to get that stupid egg. Mara would require a pugged healer, Jintha would not. I think that Dwight still needs to get his infernal, as well.

Who's available this weekend?

Tuesday, August 29, 2006

zomg bgs

so i went to AV last nite with my priest and man, what a difference. previous attempts had always failed due to a grand total of 0 games being up whenever i tried to get on (like midnight server time)... last nite thanks to the new patch... 28 AVs!!! it was great. wait times < 5 min for the 2 games i played and i scored almost 2k rep in < 2hours. (and i didn't even get to stay for the completion of the second game, that one had reached a stalemate and i had to drop to run human strat with my guildies).

good stuff... i need to get meef in there asap... i can feel the unstoppable force... it's too bad you can't join av as a group, cuz that'd be a great way to spend guild time if we could. we still can for other bgs thou, right?

Mucho Azul en el Desierto

Other than making the unfortunate choice of PUGging a troll healer in a purple dress who was visually identical to the mobs we were slaying, we had an excellent run through ZF. Dwight and I got blued up, and everyone finished all the quests except for the collection of Troll Juice, which really is just as well. It was also our first run with Cowchan back from his world tour, so that was also pretty cool.

See the full post for more pics.

Gojira was no match for us, and I am now using one of his fangs as my ambush weapon.

Chief Uzorz has like a 7% chance to drop Embrace of the Lycan, which is not only the best helm I can get prior to Stratholme, but it also makes me look like Fox McCloud! Rawr! Now I don't have to miss out on my lycanthropy when I'm not playing my druid. And alex can keep saying something about bdussbdbd. The only downside is you can no longer see my awesome mohawk, which is a little sad. Back to the topic of Starfox real quick though, if you haven't seen this penny-arcade strip, it really should not be missed.

Dwight actually got in the way when I was trying to get a screenshot of my cool helm, but I thought I'd include this. Among other things, Dwight was able to snag Zum'rah's Vexing Cane. We're all starting to look very menacing, which is good.

Zul'Farrak

Anyone up for Zul'Farrak this Saturday, same Bat-Time as normal? Now that I'm using ItemRack, I think I want to get that dagger off of Gahz'Rilla and train up Ambush.

Rick, if you're situated, you should come. Level 48 should be fine for the mobs in Zul'Farrak, and then we'll just have to PUG a healer.

Welcome new guildies!

I'd like to welcome Synbian (lvl 8 Tauren Druid), Bitrot (Orc Hunter) and Mojito (Druid). I've also created an alt -- AngelaMartin (undead priest).

I've already sent Mojito some mageweave bags ... I'll be sending some to Synbian shortly.

We'll soon be scheduling some low level grind sessions ... probably in the barrens ... I'll schedule it soon.

Edit: If someone sees Synbian online ... can you /ginvite him?

The Cow Has Returned...

...kinda.

So I'm finally back in the states and anxious to get back to the fleeting summer BBQ fun. I see many improvements have been made, and I will get back to the grind as soon as I find a)an apartment, b)internet access, and c)a job. Hopefully, this will take two weeks or so. Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate everyone on their hard work and I will do my best to join the ranks of the Korean BBQ once again.

For the BBQ!!!

PS - Australia was frickin' cool. No tips! And wombats (which are basically fulborgs!)

Progression

So looking at the items laid out on the BBQ planning page, it seems like the progression from here should be Hinterlands -> Zul'Farrak -> Maraudon -> Sunken Temple.

Also, the Hinterlands quests are not in an instance and may be a little less hardcore. Is everyone cool to do it this Saturday, same time as last week? I'll be 51 and alex will be 50, so it should be doable. I'll throw something in the gCal when i get home.

On another note, I finally created the custom Guild ranks Just let me know if you want to rename/change your rank.

fuck the alliance

graaarrrgh. so i'm killing furbolgs, there's an alliance 60 mage farming too, i keep my distance, he/she leaves me alone. fine. couple minutes later, finishing off a gardener... fucking 50 druid finishes me off from the 30% i was at ><

run back, rez, druid is off killing more shit, so again, keep my distance, seems ok for awhile, 60 shaman runs around, then i don't see any alliance for awhile... until i get ganked by a 60 pally and 50 priest... and then a hunter and shadow priest show up.

i was at fucking 2920/3000 but i had to call it a night cuz i couldn't kill anything without getting ganked >< motherfuckers i just want to walk through the damned tunnel.

Nyohoho!

Once again, Google's algorithms fall prety to our guild's machinations.

Anyway, we had a pretty good run on Saturday- We got Gralax to uber enchanting, and Meef was picking up blues like Bob Dole. I myself have started the arduous Timbermaw grind, but I'm not crazy about any of the high level craftables there, so I can wait a bit on that. That time is a good time for me in general, so if we could make that a somewhat regular affair, I think that would be über.

Also, thanks to Meef for setting up the Upcoming BBQs twiki page, I've already added a few of the quests I need help with for Fleckso and Bendyr. Do we maybe want to organize this by location rather than group size?

maefaepaedaea

I added a new page to the meefipedia - upcoming bbqs (for some reason the link was underlined in red when i was looking at the main page, but clicking it still took me to the page correctly). inside you'll find a link to the calendar and lists of quests/things to do. If you're bored, feel free to add shit you want to get done to the list or add your name to things that you'd also like to get done.

btw, dunno bout you guys, but i thought that we had some excellent bbq action on saturday. instance clear + uber ralax enchants + some questing in searing gorge was eswet.

Monday, July 24, 2006

Happenings

Dunno if you guys are interested, but I've made a google calendar for steve's korean bbq. I was thinking we could mark days for trying to run instances or grind rep together or whatever. I gave full access to you 2, lemme know if it didn't work.

Spicy Dog!

In a bloody, unforeseen coup, I, Bendyr, have wrested control of this Guild. As your brand-new, all-powerful Guild Master, I promise to rule with a maniacal yet merciful insanity. I promise that your reasonable "guild tithes" will go only to the finest BoE Epix, rare non-combat pets, and whatever phat loot I might be tempted by in the Auction House.

Before I get to the frivolous buying of shoes, the erection of totalitarian structures, and fiddling while our wiki burns, I must direct you to the Spicy Dog™! Our guild tabard has finally been created, along with its corresponding pbwiki page; naturally, given our Guild's massive influence over Google's search algorithms, this means that our page will very soon overtake the current favorite in the google search for "Spicy Dog", which I assure you is an improvement. I ask that each and every single active member run out and purchase the mark of our Guild's distinction (and I've already mailed the two of you money so you don't have any excuses. Zing!).

See the full post for more spiciness.

Had a little horsey named Paul Revered

Guess who's revered with the Outriders? I've got the crazy [Outrider's Bow] and the [Legionnaire's Sword], both which give me a nice dps and stamina boost.

Now that I'm no longer paranoid about leveling, we should do an instance. Uh, the three of us. We can pug a healer I guess. J and I both would benefit from getting the Thrash blade from the primary Maraudon quest, which we could do in a group when you guys get to level 49 maybe? Gralax would obviously benefit from a quick trip to Uldamann. I have pretty nice gear from my pvp forays, but some of my items are disgracefully bad (I still use the [Gnomish Harm Prevention Belt], which is pretty cool for 10 minutes, but during the 50 minute cooldown it's total crap).

On the plus side of Engineering, I used my MC hat to trash two level 60s in the Undercity courtyard yesterday. I MC'd the mage, who made short work of the Warrior, and once the MC wore off he was slightly damaged and mana depleted, making him mincemeat for me and the other lowbies running through the courtyard. One of them was a Knight-Commander or something, so I got something like 600 honor for just those two kills!

P.S. It may be time to change the name of the blog up top, no?
P.P.S. Yay! My spam campaign has finally bore fruit!

Friday, July 14, 2006

Probably gonna quit for good

WoW has pretty much lost all appeal to me. What with being busy again once school starts and everything, this isn't a very good time investment for me. My sub ends on the 21st and I probably will not renew it. Just let me know what to do with the guild leadership.

Thanks, it was fun while it lasted!

Should we feel... guilty?

I just noticed this... and... I couldn't help but feel that we've done something very wrong.

It is just pbwiki's high pagerank I guess, but still.

Friday, June 30, 2006

You guys should play

You got me started again, you should too! Grinding is pretty damn boring.

Friday, June 23, 2006

almost 45

the murlocs in the swamp of sorrows have met my wrath.

not sure if we're the right level to be getting any of these, but you may want to check the markets for:

mooncloth
ironweb spider silk
living essence

high level cloth wearing raiders will needs these mats if they are working on their nr, so it may be a good time to sell this stuff if you happen to have any (and if it is indeed a good time to sell, the same is probably true for the mats for leather/mail/plate nr gear too... you can check this stuff on the cenarion circle rep page at the official site)

in addition, nexus crystals and arcane crystals are needed for naxx attunement, but i doubt any of us have spares laying around ^^;

Lowbie grinding

So Elsie (Julius's priest (that sounds like Judas Priest!)) and Fleckso (My drood) were grinding in Barrens yesterday, and I guess as a career rogue I never realized the grinding power of a healer and tank working together. It was crazy! We were taking on like 4 or 5 mobs at a time with almost no downtime. And I got to do my scary bear dance! I hit 14 and Elsie hit 13. Woo!

On another front, did you guys see the upcoming development notes? World PVP with consequences? Intra-server Battlegrounds? ROGUE PATCH!?!?! Christmas comes early for Bendyr-kun.

Sunday, June 18, 2006

Anyone?

No comments on my last post. Is everyone playing kind of regularly? It's Julius, by the way. So it seems you guys are all about the level of my warrior. But we dont really have a healer now, right? I might have to make the priest and grind grind grind. I work full-time now, but am free after that for the most part.

Coming back

Yes I am! Just as soon as I reinstall WoW.

Spooky login problems

I tried to log into the forums this morning and noticed a field asking for my CDKey. Here is a screenshot of what all the forum pages look like to me from Firefox:

I mentioned this to J, and he said that he didn't see any CD Key field (he was also using Firefox). This got me confused and worried, so I tried IE on my machine, and I didn't see any box asking for a CD Key.

I've tried clearing my cache, cookies, etc. Has anyone else seen this screen? I so far have only seen this screen from my work computer, and not my home computer. I have no extensions on firefox other than AdBlock.

EDIT: I've posted a thread to wow-tech-support here. No one else seems to be able to see this box... The graphics used in the box (i.e. the cdkey image all come from the forums.worldofwarcraft.com server, and the action url of the form is some aspx form on forums.worldofwarcraft.com, so I don't think that my browser has been hijacked or that this information could be compromised in any way, but just to be safe I'm going to be using IE to access the forums for a while.

Discombobulation and Confustication

Woohoo! I did a solo stealth run of the back part of Gnomer, and I got the schematic for [Discombobulator Ray]. It's a kickass engineering toy that slows a humanoid target to 80%, and reduces their melee and spell damage for 12 seconds. The great thing about it is, that it's not limited to Engineering use! I've sent some of you some in the mail, if anyone else wants one, just pst me or drop me a line, I've been stockpiling Jade specificially for these, and I have a couple in my bank. Just put them on any of your action bars and click them to fry your opponent. They are kickass for gank insurance, and can stop a Hunter from kiting you to death with cheapness; on top of that, I imagine it's very frustrating and demoralizing to be turned into a leper gnome. I can't make an endless supply of them, so don't use them in Battlegrounds or anything, but feel free to pop them in World PVP whenever you like.

Just a note, they don't work on druids, as they can just shapeshift out of it, so don't bother using it on them.

Monday, June 05, 2006

i have returned! well, actually i got back on wednesday, but my body is all out of whack. i was barely able to raid >< on the bright side i picked up some [shimmering geta] and a [shroud of pure thought].

i'm slowly getting back to things, hopefully i'll be on meef soon. how are y'all doing? lvl 50? 60? uberness? gankdom?

What the heck is an Engineering Bag?

Have you guys ever seen one of these in-game?

Finals sucks, graduating is cool

Hey everyone. Just so you guys know, I'll be moving/studying/taking finals/graduating until the 21st, so I probably won't be on besides every once and a while to try and grind on up.

Also, I'm very much up to do some instances between the 22nd and June 1st. After that, I'll be moving around, hitting up Europe and Australia, and then won't be back to my trusty laptop until the beginning of August. So, if anyone wants to maybe run RFK, SM, or the other mid-40's fiascos, I'll be very very free to do so after the 22nd. Huzzah!

Azeroth へ かえります!

I'm back... and due to my extreme timezone confusion, I'm level 45 now! I think I'm going to try grinding that cave south of steamwheedle port for the next few levs, although sometimes that area is a little crowded. Anyone else have any other good grind suggestions for this level range? How is Hinterlands/Azshara, etc?

Anyone up for one of those instances J was touting a few weeks ago?

media

sweet revenge

so yesterday i was grinding in the badlands again, this time killing ogres, when i get ganked by two alliance fuckers (specifically, 44 or so rogue and 41 mage). i guess the rogue forgot how close the graveyard was, cuz when i rezzed, he was at half health, finishing a fight with a rock elemental.

i rezzed, charged, immediately hamstringed and used rend... so when the fucker vanished a second later, he popped back out of stealth. nyooohohohoho! i love that. then yeah, even thou he pot'd i finished beating the crap out of him and got the hell out of dodge. hahah.

fuck the alliance.

聖剣伝説DS: Children of Mana is here!!! w00t!

time to get my import gaming on! nyoooohohoho!

elemental earth ftw

so during my mad attempt to crawl out of debt, i stumbled upon a little gem... elemental earth! grinding those earth elementals near kargath has been paying off nicely. at first, prices were as high as 2.25g each, but even now at 1g each it's been some pretty good income. at any rate, i've bought my skills, and am quickly approaching 40g! i'll have that money back to you guys soon. thanx again for the loans!

The Mage

Of all the classes in wow that exist,
one right now seems to surely be pissed
We rolled a mage becasue magic is FUN
when all we really do, is conjure a drink and a bun

We got into mage and at first it was cool
we had not 1 but 3 choices of magic school
The fire would burn, with a deadly dps
The ice would freeze, making people move less
and the arcane of course would give us clear cast

Times have now changed and we sit wondering "why?"
all we can do is conjure and cry
we have too little life and our armor does not exist
and now many people just seem to resist

So when you see a mage who looks very sad
all you have to say is its not all that bad
you can still group with us we wont let you become dead
as long as you make us some water and bread...doh!

Epeen

Sorry, I know this has nothing to do with Steve's Korean BBQ, but I just wanted to say that after many many many long months, I finally completed my prophecy set with my priest!

I think this is my first full set ever in WoW (never completed dungeon set 1)... I don't think I ever had a full set in Diablo II either hahaha.

woo hoo!!! alrighty, sorry, but i really had to get that out of my system. now back to grinding for a horse! ^^;

G'day, guild

So... my two-point-five week whirlwind tour of Australasia begins on Thursday, and I will be /afk for a while. As I'll be packing all of tomorrow, I plan on logging on tonight, using up my rest on pirates in Tanaris (and that pesky dragonslayer's blessing that I just can't bring myself waste), and I'll send all the gold i have on hand at the moment to someone who can put it to better use.

When I get back, I imagine that Cowchan will be fully decked out in purple world drops, Dwight will be death coiling rogues like a mofo, Limezor will be doing solo runs on Molten Core, and Jason will have moved.

Bendyr = Übyr.

A late night drunken grinding session led me to the magical level 44, which enabled me to weild the unbelievably awesome [Phantom Blade] (pictured below). I will use this sword to rock the BGs!

It's a pretty funky looking sword, too; it's very... "Tidus" from FFX:

It glows blue even without enchants. Our old friend Arboshock has offered to hook me up with one of his high level enchants, in exchange for a Gnomish Mind-Control Cap], which I can probably do. I'm off-handing the [Sword of Omen] I picked up back in SM.. Speaking of which, if you guys still want to do SM or RFD tomorrow, let me know. I'm itching to try this baby out on some eliteness, and I can get an even better off-hand sword from a quest in RFD.

To Infinity... And Beyond!

Well, so it looks like you guys are leveling like madmen... which got me thinking about our plans for instancing. Obviously we still have a date with High Inquisitor Whitemane and her crew at the Scarlet Monastary, which should be trivial as we push into our mid 40s.

Other things to consider:
Gnomeregan - Getting to be a bit low, but if nothing else I know I could use some Dual Reinforced Leggings. Quest info: Rig Wars

Razorfen Downs - Just about perfect level for us, not too sure of the goodies, but if you've never been, you must see the undead concert.

Uldaman - We can definitely do the first half or whatever of the dungeon, again, not too sure what kinda lewt we'd be going for. Also would have to watch out for alliance parties, because you must fight your way to the entrance (somewhat like deadmines).

A little further out:
Maraudon - we should probably get up to mid 40s before attempting this place, but it's pretty big (there's the 'orange side,' 'purple side,' and the whole waterfall, naturey area if i remember correctly), so if nothing else we could start some of the annoying collection quests. The princess probably won't be possible until more like 50, but at that point, we're talking about some pretty nice gear that you may well keep until 60.

Sunken Temple - also quite a lot of content here, so starting early to do collection quests wouldn't hurt. Lots of high level class quests also require killing one of the dragons here, so we'll definitely be stopping by eventually...

zomg, endgame!
Blackrock Depths - we can start here at low to mid 50s, and definitely should... this dungeon is especially massive with many different areas, scripted events, and quests and such. Some classes used to be able to get some of their tier 0 set from this dungeon, but in 1.10, they reitemized the bosses and i think moved those drops to the later dungeons. still, lots of good stuff here, if nothing else, a chance to get Ironfoe!

LBRS, UBRS, Scholo, and Strat - Once we're 60 we can start collecting our tier 0 set! And once we do that, we can start upgrading it too!!! The upgraded class sets even contain 4 epix I believe. If you've been watching the blizzard main page, you probably already know, but you can preview these sets here. (the tier 0 i'm talking about is dungeon set 1, which we upgrade to dungeon set 2)

DM - dire maul is uber. like sm, 3 separate areas, but with uber end game lewt and great content. each area is so big, that they're basically an instance each.

Well alrighty, enuf dreaming for today... back to work ^^;

I HATE MOVING

I'm pretty sure that the WoW Realm Status Page is purely decorative in nature.

Warlock Forums are ridiculous

This is a great quote from the Warlock forums:

Seriously, we are Warlocks. Masters of the Dark Arts. We are not crude, barbaric warriors. We are educated and erudite scholars of dark lore who summon, bind, and command other intelligent agents through our sheer force of will. Ad hominem and invective does not become us. We are better than that. We should be, at any rate.

HAHA. When did Aidan start playing WoW.

A horse is a horse is a horse of course of course

HAHA I got my horse ... and it was free

[edit] Oh yeah I can make mageweave bags ... send me mageweave. I'll be farming some in Feralas while also getting my fishing / cooking up to 300 because I'm insane.

Did You Know?

I've been going a little crazy with screenshots lately, but...

Did you know:

...that If you log in when you're dead you get this cool login screen?

...that Shaman's have a cool enchantment that lets you walk on water?

...that if you Mind Control someone, you can give them buffs and they'll retain them after the MC wears off, thus allowing a Night elf like this one to get a Shaman buff?

We were dancing with this alliance night elf on the water by Booty Bay for like 10 minutes. After the angsty gankfest in gadgetzan the night before, this was a welcome change. Of course, 10 minutes later a lv 60 hunter ruined it by aim shotting my shammy friend here.

Bendyr is poor but happy

So all that money I was bragging about before? Totally gone. What did I spend it on? I brought pictures:

First I finally bought my mount. Though you actually don't get to name your mount like Hunter pets, I've decided that my horse's name is "Mr. Dead".

Second, I got my gnome engineering card, and I made some toys. My favorite ones are the Death Ray and Shrink Ray, which I alternate during their 5 min cooldowns...

The Death Ray usually allows me a one-hit kill every 5 minutes. Unfortunately, it also does a good amount of damage to me, so if I get an unexpected add I could die. Still, a lot of fun. I actually used this to get a one-hit kill on a Warlock, but I forgot to get a screenshot.

The Shrink Ray usually shrinks your opponent, reducing his attack power by 250. It also has a chance to grow you, which is actually better because you can take on multiple bad guys with about an extra 80 attack power. The "backfire" effect means that you yourself gets shrunk (and lose 250 attack power temporarily), but this seems like a pretty rare occurence, and I can always gouge, vanish, or blind, and wait for it to wear off. Also a lot of fun.

Can't wait to try these bad boys out in battlegrounds.

Where's the Beef? Right Here.

Hello all. Thanks to Bendyr, I, Cowchan's alter-ego, have now been added on to poster status, and just wanted to post some screenshots of the new weather patch, as some of you haven't seen it yet. Also, I just got me a grey kodo, so no more walking for this cow. Woot!

SKBBQ is fucking famous.

Check out the recognition we gets in da forums. I can't even ax a question about my talentz without getting mobbed by some fan of the crazy BBQ flava. Hope the mad recognition doesn't tarnish our guild's indie cred.

Which reminds me, next time I'm in the East Bay, I should probably sit down and eat some kimchee at this fine dining establishment, so I'm not a total poser...

AH FTW

Sr. Sergeant Bendyr has moved on from WSG to conquer a new ground... the Auction House. As I am precariously close to level 40, and because I want a pretty pink horsie, I am whoring myself out for gold in any way you can imagine. Other than mining anything I can get my hands on and all but abandoning my engineering discipline, I have also been attempting to arbitrage at the Auction House, to a degree of moderate success. I have gone from about 20g on Saturday to at least 80g right now. I've outline dmy profit mechanics on the twiki page. It's basically, buy low, sell high, with some caveats.

The funny thing is, I would actually have well over 100g if I didn't get bogged down by my covetousness. I found a Phantom Blade amazingly underpriced at 10g (at least a 27g value actually), and bought it, but then I looked at the stats and the proc, and I couldn't bring myself to list it. I've decided I'll respec for swords and use this to pwn the BGs at lv. 44. Craziness! Anyway, after I've gotten my mount, sword training, and my gnomish engineering recipes, I'll probably still have some surplus gold, so if you see me online, let me know if you need cash. I think I have the auction house method down!

PVP high

Woo! So while I was waiting for Arathi Basin last night I was going around pickpocketing mobs and mining ore in Desolace; and once it became clear that the BG just wasn't going to happen, I decided to run to Feralas and pick up the flight point there. First of all, it was surprisingly easy; there are no mobs whatsoever that are close enough to the road to aggro you. Second of all, most of the allies were too high level to bother dismounting and killing you. However, I did run by this one 43 level warrior, and after he paused I was pretty sure he saw right through my stealth. Sure enough, about a minute later he came back down the road, unmounted and attacked me. Luckily, I was prepared, so I instantly blinded him, vanished, cheap-shotted, blade-flurried, evaded, and used my fricking Dragonling. I took him down! I had such an adrenaline rush after that. Unfortunately, once he came back after me about five minutes later, all my abilities were cold and I died pretty quick.

Still, not bad... 1 gank and 1 orange kill on my way to the Mojache flight point.

Profile Hosting

I've looked into one hosting site/addon called "Wow Companion". You can turn it on to scan your inventory, talents, profession, and honor, and it turns off automatically in certain situations, such as pvp or instances. You can see the hosted page here. I'm still investigating the RPG Outfitter plugin.

SM Armory and maybe Cathedral

Sorry for the late notice- but if anyone is interested in doing Scarlet Monastery Armory - sign on on Saturday at 3PM PST (6PM EST). If time allows we may attempt the Cathedral as well. So far I think that Dwight, Meefand I are in.

Guild Roster

Hey guys- until we can get a real place to host profiles and guild information, I made a pbwiki page for that stuff here. I've filled in as much information as I knew, but please feel free to add any additional information to the page. We can also supplement the page with information about who is on leave and when they will be back, etc.

Welcome Limezor!

So we have a new guildie!!!!!

My roommate's friend is a Tauren Shaman and his handle is "Limezor"

Welcome!!!!!

PS Someone /ginvite him.

Gentlemen ... welcome to Fight Club

So unlike Bendyr my pvp skill are teh weak. He can probably survive an ambush by an enemy in a contested zone ... but I'm having trouble. If anyone is unfamiliar with fighting in PVP I suggest you perfect your technique via Battlegrounds, or by duelling guild members. Anyone want to help me perfect my fear, DOT, nuke, fear, techniques?

Last Week... in Warsong Gulch

Though it took forever to get the patch and log on, I finally checked my new honor. I am a fucking BG God!!!

However, 28K honor points, and I'm still just a Sergeant? That's just not nicre.

Meefipedia

http://meef.pbwiki.com/

here's the wiki alex kindly made. check it out

CoC

From the mage forums to the fellowship forums to Steve's Korean BBQ

an excellent read

Static BBQ

Jason-san brought up a good point in a previous comment. He suggested making a static page with "Meef's tips/guidelines for instances", which might outlines our policies on loot, practical macros, and common strategies that are useful in an instance. In addition to that, I was thinking it might be useful to have other static content for our guild, such as a list of active members and all of their characters, along with their professions. It would be great to know that, when I pick up some Malachite that I'm not using, for example, instead of vendoring it or auctioning it, I could send it to a lower level guild member who is in Smithing.

In addition, it might be cool to just have our character profiles somewhere so that if I find a Mail helmet somewhere, I can figure out right away if it's better than the one Meef currently has equipped or something. I looked into Allakhazam for this, and it seems they have a profile hosting service that automatically shows your equipment, but it only works on PCs. Does anyone know of any other similar profile hosting sites that might have a mac-compatible plugin?

Guide to running an instance

I know J wanted to write up a guide to instancing, but I figured this might be useful as well:

Instance Grouping Guide from Wow Wiki

It seem pretty good, I'll have J make comments on any additional info, corrections or suggestions.

The Scarlet Monastery Library and Wailing Caverns Feel the Wrath of... STEVE'S KOREAN BBQ

A great weekend for Steve's Korean BBQ! On Friday Mircalla logged on and we decided to run thru WC.

Since we were so high, not much of a challenge, but at least we got quests done and a couple blues drops.

Murloc bulgogi anyone?

Next morning was the Scarlet Monastery. After a little questing detour we got underway with a random 29 priest. Dwightshroot walked away with an Illusionary Rod! Alas I was too preoccurpied to take screenshots ><

Afterwards we went to Tarren Mill and finished off Cyclonian. Finally the Whirlwind Sword is mine!

Next we did a little farming in Arathi and now Dwight has a Robe of Power!

Things went pretty smooth, although I hope I wasn't ordering people around too much ^^; Anyhow good times, and not bad turn out. Bendyr, Dwight, and Cowchan were all there, hope to get a healer next time for some 100% Korean BBQ goodness.
